Studio Program

Our Studio Program operates like an artist residency, offering a supportive environment where artists can create and grow under the guidance of practicing artist facilitators. We provide the space, materials, and individualized guidance for each artist to explore new mediums, develop their unique artistic voice, and build a cohesive body of work.

While we don’t offer structured lessons, we occasionally host workshops led by visiting artists and Picnic Studio artists.

Our studio is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9 a.m.–1 p.m., and Saturday from 12–4 p.m.

If you’re interested in becoming a Studio Artist at Picnic Studio, please complete our Artist Application (English and Español) Applicants must be 18 or older, have a diagnosed intellectual or developmental disability, live in the Los Angeles area, and have a strong interest in art-making. Exhibition Program

Our Exhibition Program showcases work by Picnic Studio artists alongside exhibiting artists who create independently. Through our gallery shows and online store featuring original artwork, fine art prints, and merchandise, we provide meaningful opportunities for artists to earn income and grow their careers.

We host art openings and community events that bring people together to celebrate creativity, encourage social connection, and foster inclusion among artists of all abilities.

Artists receive 60% of each sale, and the remaining 40% goes directly toward keeping our programs running — covering materials, rent, and other essential studio costs. We also help connect artists to external exhibitions, collaborations, and licensing opportunities.

Please complete our artist application (English or Español) or email us at picnicstudiogallery@gmail.com to learn more.

Our goal is to help each artist share their creativity with the world in meaningful, professional ways.
